Video Player Tech Notes

These videos require Adobe Flash Player 9 [get Flash Player 9] for playback and have been tested on Windows XP (IE7, IE6:Service Pack 2, Firefox 3.0.1), Windows 2000 (IE6:service pack 1) and Mac OS X (Safari 3.1.2).

If you already have an older version of Flash Player installed, the express install feature will ask if you would like to update to the latest version. Please click "yes". You will be asked to close your browser program, but the express install feature is very quick and will restart your browser and reopen this page. Neat. You must be an administrator on your machine in order to use this feature. Please contact your IT department to activate the install if you do not have the required permissions.

On Windows, if you only see a black box with red squares and several white icons, please update your IE browser to version 6 or 7, including any available Service Packs. Do this by going to your computer's "Start" menu and choosing "Windows Update". As above, you must have the required permissions level.

Windows 2000 users: If the video is playing in "fast forward", you do not have the correct audio (PCI card) driver installed. You need the RealTek AC97 Audio driver version 5.10.0.5510. Do NOT use Windows Update for this. For some unknown reason their driver file, although seemingly correct, completely disables any sound from the computer. Download and install this one instead (9MB ZIP file). You will have to restart your computer after installation.
